August Høyen

August Høyen creates a “feeling”, like walking on your own movie, to your soundtrack, by mixing soul sensibilities with the directness of country music, recorded with real instruments rather than programmed beats. He was frist drummer, but had to step into the spotlight to express emotions that he couldn’t through percussion alone. You can hear through his music how percussion has a lead role, his words often falling into places like percussion does. It’s interesting, different, yet, familiar, warm, loving.
