Tove Lo’s highly anticipated sixth studio album titled Estrus (that will be releases on September 18, 2026, via her independent label Pretty Swede Records!) comes from her absolute creative freedom. After stepping away from the traditional major label system, she is releasing Estrus entirely independently- a powerful place that has allowed her to experiment, say what she wants to say, be Herselt to the max. The album's title is named after the biological term for a female mammal in her top reproductive state. She has actually explicitly described the record as "chaotic, emotional, and feral." After navigating a brief period of creative paralysis, she broke through by abandoning the need to give advice or write a "thesis" album, instead focusing on the tension between the mind and the body.
