SELINA GIN & THE ICONICS
Embracing change, the times we are living
SELINA GIN delivers a body of work shaped by becoming a mother, daring to write from a place of clarity rather than urgency, and so, her new album feels both deeply personal, like the pages of a journal. 'I Memorize Your Face, 'Cause It Changes All The Time' is sincere and profound, connecting to so many of us that have changed our lives around, fast, over the past years. “Rode in from the Plains, Now I’m Going Home”, is a song about moving away from the city that she does with Christian Hjelm. Framed as a summer pop song, Selina and Hjelm sing from opposite perspectives about their relationship with Copenhagen. Selina sings an honest “it’s not you, it’s me,” to Copenhaguen- and as we do have relationships with cities, love relationships with cities, sometimes the best thing to do is the "break up". Maybe we secretly still love them and soemthing about them never leaves us.
